ARK was founded by two lifelong friends. With a combined 20 plus years experience in design and builds. We are a small bespoke garden room Company based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent offering a bespoke service to each and every client. Our projects are always built on site from the ground up using the best materials available. We are not tied to flat pack mechanics or factory built kit, meaning we can be much more flexible in the approach to both the design and build of our work. We also have the ability to adapt our projects on site when needed. As well as offering a complete planning permission service as part of our work, should one be required

ARK Design and Build do not believe in using cheap materials. Not when we can deliver for the same price using something much better. That’s why we let our clients chose every element of what we do from the start, rather than basing a price on cheap fixtures and fittings to be upgraded at a later date. We have no hidden ‘extras’ to pay. Many competitors offer Garden Offices from a certain price which may look appealing, but the reality is it may not include the things you will end up wanting or need. At ARK Design and Build we will discuss all possibilities within a thorough and detailed consultation. We can design a building or structure for you based on things you like or even replicate something you have seen before. Our clients always know from the very start exactly what they are getting. Our prices are competitive yet our quality is never compromised.

Tim and his team of Alex, Ian and Steffan designed and built for us a garden office for my wife to work from. This was on a sloping pitch of land towards the back of our garden. The team did a fantastic job from start to finish, including piling in the underpinnnings, building the actual office, and wiring in the internet and power. In particular, huge shout out to Steffan who was incredibly flexibly and helpful throughout the entire process. We were able to discuss and revise details of the original paper plan as we went and we saw how the office actually situated itself. Steffan provided options and suggestions based on his extensive experience, which meant we ended up with a final result that was even better. All mess was cleared away efficiently, and every single person we dealt with during the process was helpful and friendly. Would definitely use again for our outside building needs.
We are over the moon with our garden office, Tim was great in the planning phase - understanding what we wanted & talking through pros and cons as we changed our minds! Steffan is a superbly skilled individual who built the whole thing single handedly in 16 days - the attention to detail and quality of the build are just perfect. We also wanted a pitched and tiled roof and a gable window at one end so that the building would look more in keeping with our home and so we could maximise the location with a view down the garden. After a lot of research we found Ark who, unlike most, were willing and able to take on a more bespoke building.

A little late in writing this as we’ve had our amazing garden studio for almost a year! From the first contact with Tim at Ark Design we’ve found the team nothing but professional, friendly and genuinely care about ensuring the end result is something you love. As with any build, we’ve had a few snagging issues which have been dealt with fantastically so couldn’t ask for more with the after care. Our studio has transformed our space and we look forward to using it for many years to come, thanks Tim & team

Highly recommend. Tim was excellent and we are delighted with our building. It is a large build with bathroom, kitchen, store room, gym and office but all our requests were dealt with efficiently, any issues were sorted immediately and Tim and James are a pleasure to deal with. If we were ever to build another garden room then we would look no further than Ark Design.

Addition Feb 2024: After such an enjoyable and successful experience in 2021 with Tim and his team we didn't hesitate to work with them again on our next project for a home gym and small office space. Tim was really flexible when we showed him some images of what we visualised and the finished look is exactly what we had in mind. We are so pleased with it. I am very pleased with my new garden room. Tim and his team (Johnny and Josh) were brilliant! Tim is very communicative and a problem solver. I agree with all the 5 star reviews. Book them asap without hesitation because the waiting list is very long!

At the beginning I sent them some pictures of things I liked and the style we wanted, never thinking I would be able to get something so on point but I really have. It’s beautiful. The attention to detail, high spec materials and bespoke design features such as the hidden lock and door on our storage area have all been exceptional. Would highly recommend to all.
